Which airspace classes require an ATC clearance to enter?

Airspace classification in the UAE, as in many other regions, aligns with international standards established by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). In this context, Classes A, B, C, and D airspaces all require an Air Traffic Control (ATC) clearance for entry.

Class A airspace is typically reserved for high-altitude flights under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR), where ATC manages and separates all aircraft to maintain safety. Class B airspace surrounds major airports, facilitating both IFR and Visual Flight Rules (VFR) traffic under strict ATC oversight.
